Trains, Tractors, Trucks and Boats

Last week was transportation week for me. I grabbed my dad and took him on the Phoenix light rail, otherwise known as the METRO.


It is a great way to get downtown Phoenix. Too bad the closest station is 15 miles from my house.
Next we spent Saturday morning at the Glendale antique tractor show. Obviously my Dad's favorite brand is John Deere.


My dad even has a truck painted exactly like this one we saw at the tractor show.

This little Porsche caught my eye as I watched several people looking under the hood.

The tractor pull was the most exciting event of the day. This crawler tractor (my dad called it Caterpillar style) was the winner, with an old John Deere coming in second.

Some of the owners had hood ornaments attached to their tractors.


No question about which way the owner of this tractor votes!


To round out the week, we decided to get off the land and onto the open water! That turned out to be the Desert Belle tour on Saguaro Lake.

Next week, we will be getting off the ground and getting in an airplane!
